Yoga as we know it in the western world is just a small part of its actual outreach. Its not only a workout, stretch or posture, it’s a lifestyle, a way of living with the world and with yourself.
Implementing them into my life has brought me inner joy, purpose and everyday strategies to choose light over darkness, gratitude over overwhelm and see opportunities instead of problems.
There are many different approaches to the yogic life. Patanjali, the sage who wrote the Yoga Sutras, the words of Wisdom, described 8 limbs of yoga. They are building on each other like a tree and the first two limbs are the YAMAS & NIYAMAS. They are the foundation of every Yogi and are therefore essential for creating a life that is true and reflecting of your inner light. They bring awareness to where you are right now and guide you towards the next steps and bigger picture of living your full potential.
